Twenties Steps
This band not only plays 20's and 30's music but dress and live the period in character.
They have props like long cigarette holders, pencil thin moustaches, monocles, white tie and tails.
The four band members become individual 1920's characters for the evening and they stay in character to perpetuate the illusion of being transferred to the swish 1920's.
The band play all the expected hits, for example, the Charleston, Black Bottom, Varsity Rag, Cheek to cheek etc.
Their music is super duper but they add alternative comedy!
Interspersed within the backdrop of 20's and 30's hit tunes and songs they offer clever comedy sketches, brilliant set pieces and belief defying feats of musicianship, balance and escapology - their act has to be seen to be believed.
Acoustica
A trio consisting of two females, one blonde one brunet. The brunet plays violin and the blonde plays acoustic guitar and sings. The third member is an Afro-Caribbean male who plays acoustic guitar, percussion and sings.
The band cover contemporary singer-songwriter material e.g. Carol King, Sade, Joni Mitchell, Killers, James Blunt, James Morrison, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson.
Their music is smooth and sophisticated. They have found substantial popularity from playing for "top peoples" store Harvey Nichols on a regular basis.
